Engine Flywheel And Frywheel Housing

The flywheel is a large disk-shaped part of the engine installed at the back end of the crankshaft. It has a large amount of inertia and has the following functions:

1 Store part of the energy of the engine's work stroke to overcome the resistance of other strokes and make the crankshaft rotate evenly.

2 Connect the engine and the car transmission system through the clutch installed on the flywheel.

3 It is equipped with a gear ring that engages with the starter, which is convenient for the engine to start.

Generally, it consists of flywheels, gear rings, clutch positioning pins, bearings, etc., and some bearings are replaced by spline.

The flywheel is a wheel-shaped accumulator with a large amount of rotational inertia installed on the rotary shaft of the machine. When the speed of the machine increases, the kinetic energy of the flywheel increases to store energy; when the speed of the machine decreases, the kinetic energy of the flywheel decreases and releases energy. Flywheels can be used to reduce the fluctuation of the speed of the mechanical operation process

The flywheel shell is a shell installed outside the flywheel disk (transmission front shell), which plays a protective role. The shell is connected to the cylinder block and gearbox. The flywheel disk is actually a gear disk connected to the crankshaft, clutch plate and press plate of the engine. When the engine starts, the starter mesh with it, and the starter drives the flywheel disk to rotate so that the engine can start.
